In the wake of Superman's death, four strangers have arisen bearing the emblem of the fallen hero. Guy Gardner, late of the Green Lantern Corps, had no love for the fallen hero, but is determined to see what he can learn about the four new heroes. Luring one of the new Supermen with the appearance of a fire, he ambushes the Superman. But when he observes the rough justice that this new Superman is dishing out, he's quick to endorse him.
