Reed, Ben and Sue are taken to a Skrull court, where they are informed that they have been sentenced to death (in absentia.) They are each shot with a metabolic ray weapon, which dooms them to die of old age in a mere three days. They manage to escape, and are permitted to leave as they are heading out in a damaged vessel that will not survive long enough to get them to Earth. While escaping, they are found by Nova and his group (last seen in Nova Vol. 1 #25), mistaken for Skrulls, and attacked.
